Yoghurt Sauce

A sauce or dip with multiple uses and suitable for most diets.

This yoghurt sauce is suitable for Dairy Free and Vegan diets when soya yoghurt is used (for Fodmap diet use a low lactose yoghurt). To the slightly acidic flavour of the yogurt, a mix of herbs and spices are added to compliment the food you are serving it with. Here I have used the very simple combination of lemon and chives. Try adding cumin and coriander for curries, mint for grills or garlic when a dip for fried canapés.

Diets for which Yoghurt Sauce is suitable:

Dairy Free, Diabetic, Fodmap, Gluten Free Low Calorie, Low Fat, Nut Free, Vegan and Vegetarian.

Ingredients

Preparation: 10 mins | Serves: 1 cup

250 ml yoghurt (Dairy Free, Fodmap and Vegan diets see notes)*
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 grated lemon
1 tbsp chives, chopped

Method

MIX all ingredients.
ADD water for a thinner consistency.
CHILL.

Serve

-Serve withfish,pasta, grills, curries or as a dip.

Notes

* For Fodmap diet use a lactose free yoghurt and for Dairy Free and Vegan diets a soya yoghurt.
