Spiced Fresh Mango

Fresh mango, as a savoury accompaniment or dessert, with spice to enhance the flavour. This makes it suitable for almost every diet, including Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Paleo, Raw and Vegan.

Mango combines well with lime juice and chilli, as in myMango Salsa recipe. However, chilli is not a favourite for everyone; so I was keen to find an alternative. This was encouraged by the success of the combination ofwatermelon sprinkled with only cardamon, paprika and salt — another of my posted recipes.

A few years ago theSaveur food magazine wrote a recipe adapted from Mexican street food and it inspired this dish. I have replace the chilli with ginger which, with the lime and a little salt, reduces the natural sweetness of the mango, providing numerous serving possibilities.
